Founded in 1932, the Sons of the American Legion exists to honor the memory and sacrifice of our country's veterans.
Our mission is to perpetuate the principles of the American Legion, to support the objectives of the American Legion, and to foster a true spirit of Americanism in the communities we serve.
We are dedicated to preserving the memories and incidents of our associations in the Great Wars, promoting peace and good will on earth, and safeguarding and transmitting to posterity the principles of justice, freedom, and democracy.

Jack Lonergan has held a wide-ranging array of jobs, including as a cook and handling mortuary affairs in the Air Force, as well as civilian work such as organizing community programs that often featured balloon displays.
